The Bogg
yband was formed in the summer of 2018 by five Irish music enthusiasts — an artist, an engineer, two scientists and a retired professor — who share a passion for playing and singing music of, and inspired by, the Emerald Isle and Celtic tradition — and also for storytelling, poetic recitation, creating and learning new things.
After the Covid 19 quarantine prevented indoor rehearsal, the Boggyband moved to an outdoor deck for distance practice and was no longer able to perform for the public. With the onset of winter, outdoor practice became less feasible, inspiring a move to more online recording and sharing — and even greater creativity to which all members bring their own diverse and extensive expertise and experience.
